I really wish we had kept him instead of the shiny new toy. I really feel like we got hoodwinked by the leftists during the last election cycle. I gave them the benefit of doubt but they proved they were set on a radical progressive Kate Brown leftist agenda. This county isn’t Multnomah County quite yet. McMinnville might be little Portland but Yamhill still isn’t Multnomah Junior.

Say what you want about Stan (he isn't my favorite guy) but he is by far the most qualified candidate for this position. As for Bledsoe well, if you are looking for someone who mislead you to your face and to the rest of Yamhill county citizens as well she's your lady. Bledsoe's ran for so many positions in Yamhill county as a far left Democrat until she decided to run a died in the wool Pro life Republican in another county to trick the voters who didn't know her history into voting for her over Mike Nearman I can tell you a person like that who openly attempts to deceive people should never have access to the counties money.

Drew1951

In what county (other than Yamhill) did Bledsoe run and win over Nearman? My memory, which I admit gets foggy at times, recalls Nearman getting re-elected.

Oregonian

How about an article on Mike Green and his tenure as treasurer? He ran on the platform of boosting the rate of return on county assets. I don't think there has been an article in the NR regarding his performance.

Nicole Montesano

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestion, Oregonian; I'll add it to my to-do list. We always appreciate hearing what readers would like to see more of.

Drew: The district includes largely rural parts of four counties -- Polk, Yamhill, Linn and Benton. Nearman prevailed in all four.
Bledsoe, by the way, has never run anywhere as a "far left Democrat." Prior to challenging Nearman in the She previously ran for the non-partisan position of Yamhill County commissioner without any sort of party affiliation or identification.
As for the allegations of being a perennial candidate, our coverage indicated the county commission race represented her first bid for public office.

Good to have a fact checker on these boards.

Hey Drew she ran against Nearman as a "Republican" but did not win. And hopefully people will do their own checking and not depend on a person with a left leaning bias to check for them. And while it's true that the County Commission position is non partisan candidates are backed by a party and Kris is no different. She endorsed and supported by SEIU.
Read her voter pamphlet endorsements and tell me she isn't far left. The NR is quite hypocritical in it's coverage and reporting on "non Partisan" races when Starrett/ Weidner/Nelson and George ran with this "non partisan" position the NR couldn't point their alliances out fast enough. Oh and BLedsoe ran for Commissioner twice Steve.....So this is her third attempt and that isn't naming other boards and she has attempted to get on and failed miserably even with the help of local media.

She’s a sneaky snake. She even signed up to be a Precinct Committee Person in the Republican Party and told folks she was a “moderate.” Moderate? You should see the seas of far left candidate signage she gets put all up and down Fellowes Street in McMinnville where all of the county’s illegals live.

Bill B

The point "actionjax" is that you did not stick to the facts, but made them up.

Drew1951

Greg: What research are you referencing when you say ALL the county’s illegals live on Fellows Street?

Jeb Bladine

actionjax,

Steve said Kris Bledsoe's first local candidacy was her run for the county commission -- that was in 2008. You are correct, however, that she did run for that position again, in 2010.

You might also have recalled that the News-Register, in both of those races, endorsed Bledsoe's opponents, both of whom were prominently connected to Republican Party politics although holding nonpartisan county commission offices.

Of course, that information would not have fit your characterization of the News-Register as a far-left publication.

gregtompkins

Drew maybe I was over exaggerating but it seems to be the part of the county with far more vehicles than other areas. And lots of State is Washington license plates.... That’s usually a dead giveaway about legal status. But Queen Kate and her henchman fixed that law starting in 2021.

Primozich needs to go back to Arizona and sip wine with Tschadbold like he said he was going to. They are a good pair. He was a failure as a commissioner and frankly not a shining star as a financial planner. He let county roads and bridges decay to the point of numerous road closures. He let the assessors office waste money on vaporware. He was liaison to both areas. No Stan. Go back to retirement.
