McMinnville Police Capt. Scott Fessler told the News-Register Friday that the investigation into the downtown shooting continues as detectives work to identify all people involved and what their role in the incident may have been.
Officers believe multiple rounds were fired in the direction of Hopscotch Toys & Games at 438 N.E. Third St.
"Based on the scene investigation, it was determined that night that the Hopscotch window was damaged during this incident," Fessler said. "One parked vehicle in front of the Hopscotch business appeared to have been struck by a bullet, and there appeared to be a bullet strike/skip in the sidewalk as well."
The victim is recovering from a non-life-threatening injury, according to Fessler. He said they believe the victim was targeted.
"It is too early to make any determinations or conclusions about any kind of possible affiliations or motive for this incident," Fessler said. "We have obtained video surveillance footage from multiple locations in the area and investigators are actively reviewing all the footage, but we continue to ask that anyone with information or video footage — that has not already been contacted by the police — to contact the police department."

The McMinnville Police Department is seeking information about a shooting that occurred on Third Street late Saturday night.
Mac PD and Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded shortly after midnight to the 400 block of Third Street, between Davis and Evans streets, regarding a shot fired call.
“Following an initial investigation, officers and deputies learned that one involved subject suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was driven to the hospital by a private party,” Mac PD said in a media release on Monday.
Captain Scott Fessler told the News-Register it is an ongoing investigation and they could not release further details at this time.

I wonder if they were illegalls. I wonder if they were cartel members who run grow operations and theft ring activities in our county under sanctuary state protection. I wonder if the NR will actually follow up on the story.
