OSP investigating death

GRAND RONDE — Troopers from the Oregon State Police are investigating the Monday night death of a Vancouver, Wash., man who suffered a medical emergency while riding in a vehicle on Highway 18 near Grand Ronde.

They gave this account:

About 11:30 p.m., West Valley Fire District medics, Grand Ronde police and troopers responded to a report of a vehicle that had pulled off the highway just west of the Spirit Mountain Casino. The 28-year-old female driver reported said she stopped to call 911 after passenger Andrew Wacker, 30, began having a seizure.

After undergoing treatment at the scene, Wacker was transported to the Willamette Valley Medical Center. He was pronounced dead following efforts to revive him.
