I don't agree with Merkley on much of anything, but I do respect his willingness to come into our center-right Yamhill County and hold meetings like this. He knows most of the people in the meeting will disagree with him, but he comes anyway. That shows some integrity and courage on his part.

Someone needs to explain to Sen. Merkley that most wildfires are started by humans, whether it be intentional or accidental. And the tree-huggers who file lawsuits that eliminate forest floor cleanup are directly responsible for the buildup of underbrush that cause fires to be much more intense. There is no perceptible link whatsoever of either of these facts to anything global warming -- except the political need to make that link.
