Balancing the mental health needs of one Mr. Milton Carmona, along with the need to properly reward his unprovoked bad behavior must be like walking a tightrope for Judge Easterday, but one has to ask [again and again, apparently] if we are doing the right thing by offering large doses of leniency that rewards the bad behavior of some with limited repercussions? Why is the District Attorney and his cohorts not seeking stronger sentencing, especially when it comes to someone like Carmona, that is apparently dangerous? We need to avoid settling for dangerous trends in sentencing when it comes to protecting the public and ensuring that the offenders are held accountable or we might be the next person that will not see Carmona's punch coming...
