Has anyone thought of asking the numerous religious facility's around Mac about using space that is mostly idle 6 days a week?

To use as classrooms? That would involve a lot of logistical issues-how to set up functioning spaces, ensuring safety, accessibility, cleaning etc. That's before we got in to legal, liability and cost issues.
