Yes. Levy, increased fees, districting will all get tied and twisted together. The knot will get tighter and we won't know what we're voting on. Deal with the big problem first. Fussing with the fees like misuse of emergency medical services (which is a fee I agree with) looks and feels like being a sore looser being so close to the election.

Well since the McMinnville Fire Department already charges the highest ambulance rates in the state, and they are still apparently hemorroraging money, perhaps it's time for a third party audit into the finances of this tax payer funded department.

It's just article after article about the poor financial state of our Fire Department, and more fees, increased fees, etc, etc.

All the while they have a massive state of art firehouse with lots of shiny new toys parked in it, a house two miles away with EMS equipment, etc.

Audit them, and turn EMS over to private companies who can do it with no tax dollars and cheaper, all while providing better patient care.

OBorn. Private companies to take the non emergency calls is a possible model. The 911 dispatcher gets to decide. But it could help with those care homes wanting help putting someone back in bed. Here is an article to make you rethink your opinion about it being cheaper: https://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-ambulance-surprise-charges-20171129-story.html. Today there are private companies which are owned and run by venture capital firms. You may like that they, don't pay well, charge for every little thing to make their profit, but the patients aren't so pleased. When you need the service is when you will care.

Christmas has Talons

A toll for some bridges were formed to have the bridge pay for itself and after the cost of the bridge was recovered supposedly the toll was going to go away. Peralta is flippant about using other's money and certainly has no grasp that monies taken to be used to plug a hole will need to be taken again and again because habits needed to be changed not have the consequences of bad money management solved by more of other's money.

What makes you think McMinnville's ambulane rates are the highest in the state? Have you undertaken a comprehensive study? If not, has some reliable source conducted one?
You've made this claim previously, and without any foundation whatsoever, as far as I can tell.
You might start by simply checking the rates charged in Lane County.
