Bubba, let your voice be heard when he announces that we are now on the side of the dictators of Russia and North Korea instead of being the leader of the free world.

Just like I posted a couple weeks ago, Bubba had travel plans on Yamhill County’s dime. What a waste. I think Yamhill County needs a chainsaw. If this was Lindsay, there would be a huge uproar from tagup & treefarmer & probably Sandy. I Can’t wait to read 10 paragraphs on how they support this kind of waste, but first I have to go work 8 hours before my boss will sign my paycheck unlike ???
and Tree farmer.

Ms. Salinas, I don’t expect you to stand and applaud the President’s comments or opinions. I don’t expect you to line up to shake his hand or grab a photo when he comes down the aisle or enters the chamber. But there is one thing I would like to know. There was a thirteen-year-old boy in attendance who has fought brain cancer and has lived 4 years longer than doctors said he would. He wants to be a cop when he grows up and has been made an honorary officer with several departments. From watching him, you can clearly see that he is impaired from the brain cancer.
PRESIDENT TRUMP GAVE HIM A BADGE AND MADE HIM A HONORARY SECRET SERVICE OFFICER AND YOU CANNOT GET OFF YOUR ASS AND CLAP FOR HIM? WHAT IN THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?
A FRICKEN 13 YEAR OLD KID WITH BRAIN CANCER AND YOUR HATRED FOR A MAN AND YOUR INABILITY TO MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION OF RIGHT AND WRONG KEPT YOU FROM STANDING FOR A 13 YEAR OLD WITH BRAIN CANCER?
Bubba. I want you to answer the same questions. Did you stand for this young man or did you sit there like a good little democrat? Because from what I have heard, all of the dem guests sat just like their hosts. Everything in that chamber is filmed; I just haven’t found the camera angle yet.
The whole display by the democrat party last night was disgusting! The democrats have NOTHING to offer, and it's on full display. Their current reason for living is to stop the exposure of fraud and abuse of our tax dollars. Are they denying that the scam is taking place, that the abuse is taking place? No. They are trying to stop it from being exposed and last night they were on full display that they are scared, desperate, and have NOTHING to offer but theft and fraud and the desperate attempt to cover their ass. DISGUSTING!

Doge cut NIH funding for cancer research

Bigfootlives... Completely agree. Well stated. The Dems behavior was embarrassing, both individually, and as a party. Not just the young man with brain cancer, but there were other individuals recognized, and the Dems just sat there. Pathetic.
tagup
Thanks Otis… actions speak louder than words.

R's cheered and laughed at all the lies, bigotry, and the demonization of immigrants the whole time....all from the guy that sicked a mob to lynch them 4 years ago. THAT's what was disgraceful.
I think Trump actually believes that immigrants that declare asylum in the US are actually from an insane asylum....or that millions of transgender mice are out there in a lab somewhere. BTW...It's transgenic mice. Big difference. Scientists do this to study pathogens in humans.
Idiocracy was actually a documentary. Uggghhh.

I especially enjoyed the blatantly false statements about 100 plus year old ( dead people ) receiving Social Security benefits. This lie was originally promoted a few weeks ago,due to Musks misunderstanding of the files he was reviewing. Dead people with few exceptions are NOT getting checks. yet trump continues to spread the lie. What’s Pathetic is, like the stolen election lie, there are fools who will believe it.
treefarmer
How fortunate for anonymous commenters that you never have to be embarrassed by (willful?) ignorance of the facts. I have scrolled past most of the absurdities posted here, but I will take the time to pop the make-believe bubble about Bubba’s trip to DC. He made it clear during the BOC meeting last week that he was funding his travels from his own pocket. (And you can be absolutely certain that if he had even ATTEMPTED to claim travel expenses, those other two would have revealed it in a heartbeat.)
The “waste” alleged is the time it took to work up sanctimonious outrage over something that didn’t happen. That rabbit hole must be a dark and disorienting place.

I'm waiting for the new administration to cut the Secret Service funding.

The bad behavior of the Democrats notwithstanding, let's give Commissioner King the benefit of the doubt.

Congresswoman Salinas walked out — good.
Commissioner King did not — he should have.
Better yet — he should not have gone in the first place.

Otis---thanks for clarifying about "transgenic" mice (a very important thing, btw). I really had no idea where the "transgender mice" idea came from.
A thought about why there are so many dead people on social security rolls: I bet the agency has never deleted a record of a social security number: history and record-keeping and all. So lots of "dead people" are still in their records. The vast majority, however, are not receiving checks.
tagup
That’s correct Carolsm, yet when Musk made the statement ( in the Oval Office as I recall) he said “billions” were being sent by SSI to dead people.
That falsehood has been debunked repeatedly in the last few weeks, yet there it is again on National TV.

treefarmer wrote -- 'How fortunate for anonymous commenters that you never have to be embarrassed by (willful?) ignorance of the facts.'
What the ----? You always bitch at anonymous posters and suggest they would never write such things using their real name, or even disagree with your selective partisan rants. According to you, standing behind statements comes with the responsibility to own it, personally. So, is treefarmer your 'real name'? Yeah, didn't think so. Kinda' willful ignorance in the other direction, right?
tagup
Don, I commend you for using your name, but in an era where retaliation is acceptable (and encouraged) by our national leadership, It may be a smart move to shield one’s identity when sharing an opinion. That said, posting anonymously does remove accountability for statements that might not be accurate and otherwise might not have been posted.
treefarmer
Okay Mr. Dix – let’s parse this. Respectfully, I think you missed the point. To post smears about someone based on something that is NOT TRUE, something that is easily verified, appears to be either irresponsible laziness, or signifies the intent to deceive and malign. Either way, since it pertains to a fact, it would not qualify as “opinion.”
I fail to see how posting anonymously, which most of us do, could amount to” ignorance,” as you have alleged. Perhaps you meant to accuse me of hypocrisy because I do not reveal my identity either? For the record, I stand by my “statements (or “rants” as you perceive them) and have no intent to deceive. I certainly do share opinions face to face, but only with those I am confident would not show up in the dead of night to respond with violence if they don’t like my perspective. (The veneer of civilized behavior becomes more diminished by the day.) You are free to judge me, or indeed anyone who posts here, but may I suggest the option of the scroll bar? I am not required reading.
treefarmer
tagup - you posted while I was composing - thanks for the support.

'How fortunate for anonymous commenters that you never have to be embarrassed by (willful?) ignorance of the facts.' Direct quote, your words. I'll assume you comprehend the meaning you portrayed by suggesting they are 'lucky to be anonymous' so as not to be embarrassed by ignorance (of facts). The 'point' cannot be missed, it is staring you right in the face.
In the past, you have bitched and complained about Rotwang, Bigfootlives, and ALLCAPS for posting content you disagree with under screen names - challenging them to reveal their true identity, as if they are cowards otherwise. This time it was several you wish to silence, with the same ('you wouldn't write this if your real name is on the post') stance. Question is -- would you?
You know my name (as if I care). On the other hand, I don't give a rat #$&* what yours is, so I guess that balances the scale.
treefarmer
Mercy, Mr. Dix – take a breath! You continue to miss the point so I give up. I have never challenged anyone to reveal their identity that I recall, nor do I want to “silence” anyone. It appears that you misperceive my intentions. I will suggest again that you avail yourself of the scroll bar. I will do the same. Problem solved!!
