I served as a CASA in Yamhill County for two years and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Challenging and eye-opening about difficulties I was unaware of.

Also someone who volunteered, it is the ground work to understand the cycle of the judicial system, the holes that a family falls into, and the true difficulties of people trying to better their lives while children stand in the shadows of things they have little control over. If you want to change how today looks, investing yourself in the future is all that you can do to change the outlook for a child. Everyone involved is trying to stop the habitual cycle of now. Hats off to all of those who step into the challenges these children face. One way to "do" instead of being an Armchair Warrior of social media.
