I JUST WANTED TO MAKE A POST SINCE THIS ARTICLE IS VAGUE AND NOT PARTICULAR TO SHOWING PR OF THE MAYOR AND VISUAL TO BONAMICI. FEELS LIKE THIS IS PREACHING TO THE CHOIR. WE'VE HASHED THIS OUT THE LAST THREE YEARS. BOTH HOUSING AND TOURISM IS IMPORTANT, NOT IGNORED. CHECK YOUR POCKET-BOOKS.

Sounds like a lot of spit-balling- again. There is a lot of McMinnville land. It's just not being used for housing. A lot of the land is being reserved for the tourist and wine industry. Priorities need to be revisited.

Enforcement and drug treatment programs should be the area of focus.
Watch (google) the video "Seattle is dying" ... such a simple solution. Time to face the truth Yamhill County.
Affordable housing? Homelessness?
Let's call it what it really is.

Exactly what Stella said.

Stella, I just finished watching the documentry "Seattle is dying" on youtube. Thanks for recommending it! Wow, Rhode Island has a lot to teach us here in the NW.
And by the way, in regards to calling it what it really is... the political correctness police here in the North West have now outlawed the term "homeless." We now are supposed to refer to them as the "differently housed." In the meantime they continue to suffer and die as shown on that documentary.

Who said, "We now are supposed to refer to them as the 'differently housed?'" I did a global Google search for the term and only came up with one reference. It was from a cartoon featuring a homeless guy holding up a euphemistic sign.
Sounds like that supposed War on Christmas that never happened. I think you can rest easy on this score.
The term is simply not in play. It's just a figment of someone's fertile imagination.

Did you know this year is the ten year anniversary for "fixing" this problem? Seriously the "plan" included a photo of a pyramid with the Commissioners at the top and at the bottom was "counting the heads" followed by "services" to enable the problem
My question: How much do we get per head? Is that the problem? More $ = more "services"? Are we actually adding services to attract a higher head count (out of state heading here). a cycle that appears to help no one, except, perhaps, those employed to offer the "services"
