Pirate girls plunder Santiam Christian

After a first half that saw the Dayton girls' soccer club throughly control the ball but only get a single goal for it, the Pirates came out of the intermission on fire.

Dayton's forwards cranked up their assault and netted three goals in the back half to secure a 4-0 win over the visiting Santiam Christian Eagles in Class 3A/2A/1A nonleague actuon on Monday. Playing without a number of starters due to a rash of injuries, the Pirates upped the aggression in the closing half, capping off a pair of long runs in the back of the net.

Pirates head coach Pat Meyer complimented a number of those players who stepped up big, including forwards Emma and Elizabeth Meaders, to get Dayton the win in their first game on the new artificial turf field at Dayton High School.
