
Yamhill woman killed in crash north of Yamhill
One-vehicle crash caused closure of highway over night

YAMHILL -- Luisa Appell Proper, 58, of Yamhill was killed early this morning when her car veered off Highway 47 and struck a power pole near Cove Orchard Road, about six miles north of Yamhill.
Traffic was rerouted for part of the night as police investigated the 12:48 a.m. wreck. The highway is open again this morning.
Oregon State Police said Proper was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima four-door south on Highway 47 when she ran off the road. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Yamhill Police Department, Yamhill Fire Protection District, Gaston Rural Fire District and ODOT.
