Multiple fire agencies from Yamhill and Polk counties are engaged in a three alarm wild land fire that has reached a timber area east of Highway 99W between Amity and Rickreal, near the intersection of Frizzell and Oak Grove Roads.

According to dispatch reports, the fire was about 20 acres of standing wheat acres, with flames estimated at 30 feet high when crews first arrived. No structures are currently in danger, however wind is a factor, reports say.

The Oregon Department of Transportation has been contacted to handle traffic. Motorist are encouraged to find alternative routes if possible.
