(Corey Adams/Mayor of Willamina) I am pleased to invite all residents of Yamhill County and beyond to the opening ceremony of the indoor skatepark at the Tina Miller Teen Center, 172 NW 4th St, Willamina, Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. - the invitation extends beyond skaters as this will be a great family event.

There will be giveaways, demonstrations and free hot dogs.

The skating facility is the only public indoor facility of its kind in the mid-Willamette Valley. It adds to the many things to do for teens and families at the center, one of our city's best community assets.

A special thanks to Hampton Lumber, Mike Hollis and Dreamland, who donated supplies, Dave Shaefer and Jason, who helped build it, and Meredith Kendell, manager of the center, and many other members of the community who helped out.

It’s been a lot of fun making this project come to life and even more fun skating the finished product. We look forward to continuing to promote healthy activities for our youth and adults.
