Moving day at

An experiment in digital news and community information

Dec 11, 2012

It’s moving day here at We are one day from content going behind a paywall, as announced last week. But not everything will be subscription based.
We’ve set the mantra that red is free, blue is paid. That is, if the menu bar is blue, it’s subscriber content, if it’s red it is free.

Red, for the most part, will mean this: Open Source, Yamhill Valley’s community news blog. While establishing a paywall is a tough business decision being implemented, the creation of Open Source is an experiment or project involving how the general community gets and shares information on a digital platform.

I will explain throughout the next couple days about what we hope this interactive space will become while we continue to fine-tune our homepage’s new look.
