Each Friday night, the sports program Friday Night Football, broadcasted by Portland NBC affiliate KGW, selects one high school game in the Portland metropolitan area as its Spotlight Game.

Friday's tilt between Forest Grove and McMinnville at Wortman Stadium could be that game.

The matchup between the Vikings and the Grizzlies is one of three contests on KGW's ballot for the Spotlight Game. The other two are Roosevelt at Wilson and Milwaukie at Liberty, both OSAA Class 5A games.

As of 11 p.m. Wednesday, Forest Grove-McMinnville had amassed 23,270 votes, compared with 21,593 for Milwaukie-Liberty. Roosevelt-Wilson had 3,205 votes. Voting ends Friday at noon.
