(N-R Staff)  SHERIDAN — The driver of a loaded log truck was uninjured this morning when his tractor-trailer rig rolled just west of Sheridan at Red Prairie Road.

The Oregon State Police gave this account of the 11:45 a.m. incident:

Ray Mott, 56, of 110 N.E. Kingwood St., McMinnville, employed by Siletz Trucking, was operating a 2000 Kenworth when the trailer's right-side wheels traveled onto the shoulder. He lost control trying to bring the trailer back onto the pavement. The rig traveled across the westbound lanes and rolled onto its side, spilling its load.

In addition to OSP, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Sheridan Fire District and Oregon Department of Transportation responded.

OSP Senior Trooper Bridget Taylor, who patrols out of the McMinnville office, is the lead investigator.

The highway was partially blocked while the scene was cleared. It was later reopened.

Also, this prevented ODFW from stocking the area lakes and ponds that were scheduled to get trout today.
