Picking is underway at vineyards across the region

The very first vineyards yielded their fruit mid-way through the week of Sept. 9. From north to south, picking schedules are at least three weeks ahead of the norm. Assuming the current mild weather continues through September, it's likely 2013 will turn out similarly to 2012, with record or near-record tonnage and minimal problems in the field.
