Calling him a "con-man," police said he may approach people asking for financial assistance and other resources under various pretenses. But they said he is not known to be armed or dangerous.

Rosenstiel, 54, was arrested in August 2013 after allegedly posing as the owner of vacant rental properties in McMinnville. He allegedly met potential renters through Craigslist ads and shook them down for deposits and downpayments.

In an attempt to gain sympathy and financial aid, he told prospective marks he was dying of cancer, police said.

Rosenstiel failed to appear in Yamhill County Circuit Court for a legal proceeding earlier this month, prompting issuance of a warrant. He is facing bail of $500,000 when he is apprehended.

He stands 5-foot-10 and 176 pounds. He has graying blond hair and blue eyes.

His last known address was in Aloha. Anyone who spots him, or comes across information about his whereabouts, is asked to call local law enforcement, Yamhill County dispatch at 503-434-6500, or McMinnville detective Bill Christensen at 503-435-3495.
