Willamina council to consider new fee

WILLAMINA -- City council members will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, july 21, in council chambers.The special meeting will be open to the public.

The council will consider adding a utility fee of $2.50 per month. 

The fee would be assessed from every household hooked up to the water and sewer system. The first $2 of the fee would go toward street lighting improvements, and the remaining 50 cents would go into a reserve fund for future projects.

Council members also will discuss a code amendment that would require permits for recreational vehicle parking, the library facade and the Willamina senior center.
