If in doubt, probably better to shoot to protect your family and your home.
If you weren't supposed to shoot, you go to jail. If you hesitate and try to remember everything you read in this article, you'll probably be going to the morgue. Neither sounds very inviting but all things considered... I'll take the jail over the morgue.

The simple yet unmistakable sound of a shell entering the chamber should give anyone within earshot a clear idea of the impending force. Warning shots are also effective, although somewhat damaging if the weapon of choice happens to be a shotgun (my favorite). In my opinion, a would be bad-doer that sticks around after either of these 'hints' qualifies for the NFL (Not For Long)!
