Wheatland Ferry open again

WHEATLAND - With rain returning to the Willamette Valley, the Wheatland Ferry has reopened.

It was closed Sundady due to low water levels, but now has returned to regular operating status, according to the Marion County Public Works Department.

The agency cited rock movement during high water periods as the reason for the oeriodic low water levels.

The ferry runs from 5:45 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. daily, carrying vehicles and pedestrians across the Willamette River south of Dayton.
