United Way announces grants

Winning funds were:

- Family Advocacy Support, involving four agencies, led by Chehalem Youth & Family Services.

- The Fostering Hope Initiative, involving seven agencies, led by Catholic Community Services.

- Healthy Food for Vulnerable Underserved Population, involving five agencies, led by the Yamhill Community Action Partnership.

- Pathways to Becoming a Health Care Professional, involving four agencies, led by the Oregon Pacific Area Health Education Center.

- Yamhill Respite & Outreach, involving four agencies, led by Lutheran Community Services.

- Yamhill County Service Integration Team, involving four agencies, led by Yamhill Community Care Organization.

- Homeless Stabilization Program, the Yamhill Community Action Partnership.

- Re-entry & Shelter Services, Helping Hands.

- Optimum Outcomes for Every Child, Yamhill County Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Projects were judged on collaboration, sustainability, history, impact and need.

“The process was very competitive this year, but because of the rigorous evaluation process, we’re confident the projects selected will make the best, most efficient use of the available funds contributed by United Way supporters,” said Board Chair Mark Freed.
