McMinnville Sprint Triathlon on May 30
This year marks the sixth year of the Annual McMinnville Sprint Triathlon presented by the McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department. The race takes place in the aquatic center, through some city streets, and into Yamhill County on Saturday, May 30.
It consists of a 500-yard swim, 12.1-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run. There is room for only 200 total participants; more than half of the slots have been filled. You can sign up at www.signmeup.com and search for McMinnville.

McMinnville Youth Soccer holds registration
Registration for the McMinnville Youth Soccer Association’s 2015-16 season will occur Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, at Joe Dancer Park in McMinnville. The registration event will take place instead of tryouts. Parents of new participants must bring their child’s birth certificate as proof of age.
Registration times are as follows:
U8 (born between August 2007 and July 2008): 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. May 30; skills assessment from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
U9 (born between August 2006 and July 2007): 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. May 30; skills assessment from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
U10 (born between August 2005 and July 2006): Noon to 1 p.m. May 30; skills assessment from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
U11 (born between August 2004 and July 2005): 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 30; skills assessment from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
U12 (born between August 2003 and July 2004): 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. May 31; skills assessment from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
U13 (born between August 2002 and July 2003): Noon to 1 p.m. May 31; skills assessment from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
U14 (born between August 2001 and July 2002): 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 31; skills assessment from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

See Ya Later Found. holds track camp
The “See Ya Later” Foundation is offering a Track Camp for current first- through sixth-graders for Saturday, May 30. Camp hours will be 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dayton High School Football Stadium. Tenth annual Stoller Vineyard Run May 30
The 10th Annual Stoller Vineyard 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at the Stoller Estate, 16161 NE McDougall Rd in Dayton. A kids’ mile event will begin at 9:45 a.m.
Registration is $20 for the 5K and $5 for the kids’ run, with all proceeds supporting Dayton High School girls basketball and track programs.

Willamina Mud Drags coming in June, July
The annual Willamina Mud Drags are returning to Willamina on Saturday, June 27, and Saturday, July 25.
Pre-registration for the event is available by calling Sherry Dawkins at 503-879-5676 or Donna Samson at 971-241-7031 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Entrance costs are $35 per truck, driver and event and $25 for Powderpuff drivers, limited to the first 110 vehicles. Pit passes cost $15 per person.
There will be 14 classes of racing, including six Powderpuff classes, at the Mud Drags, with trophies and cash prizes awarded to winners. Check-in runs from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. the day of both events, with racing to follow at 10 a.m.
General admission to the event is $5, with children ages 8 and under let in at no cost. No alcohol, dogs, open flames or bikes are allowed, and chairs will not be provided.
All proceeds from the event benefit Willamina’s Fourth of July fireworks spectacular.

Anybody up for some arm wrestling?
The Willamina 4th of July Arm Wrestling Championships will take place Saturday, July 4, at 2 p.m. at Garden Spot Park in Willamina.
Entrants may compete in kids, novice, women’s, teen and open divisions, with cash prizes awarded to the top three finishers in the men’s open division. Entry fees are $20 for the open division, $15 for the novice, women’s and teen divisions and $5 for the kids’ division.
Weigh-ins will occur from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 3, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 4. The event is sanctioned by the United States Arm Wrestling Association and World Armwrestling Federation rules will be enforced.
