Show will light up Amity sky

The show is free. However, McMinnville Jaycees, who are putting on the fireworks, are asking for a donation from viewers who watch the show and attend the pre-show activities at the Amity High School stadium.

Fourth of July activities will get underway about 3 p.m. at the stadium. The band Industrial Buddha will play easy listening tunes. Food booths and other vendors will be on hand through the afternoon and evening.

Fireworks will start about 10 p.m., when it’s dark enough for good visibility.

Donations to defray the cost of the fireworks are still being accepted. For more information about donating, check the Jaycees website, at

Thank you to the Jaycees for working so hard to make this event happen year after year in spite of all of the obstacles placed before you. My family will definitely be there showing our support by donation.

Thank you MacNative, as a past Jaycee I appreciate your support and want to thank everyone that came to the event in Amity on Independence Day.
