Robotics kids show off creations
In addition to building a robot and putting it through its paces, young competitors had to imagine innovative answers to problems that affect seniors.
One team, for instance, invented a new type of jar opener that can be used by arthritic hands and another proposed a solution to cataracts.
All the teams invited to Tuesday’s showcase have qualified for state. They are the Rubber Duckie Engineers, Engineering LEGO Technology, The Blue Dudes, M5 AIR Bots, Wildbots and K-otic Robotic.
LEGO Robotics is an after school program affiliated with 4-H. For more information, call Mike Knutz, director of the OSU Extension 4-H program, at 503-434-8913.
