Remains identified as former Newberg teen

Coroner Gary Warnock said Bailey died of homicidal violence. He was identified through dental records.

Transient Christopher Harris has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Bailey’s death. He is being held in the Thurston County Jail on $750,000 bail.

Two other transients charged with rendering criminal assistance are accused of helping Harris dispose of the body.

Bailey was living with his maternal grandmother, Melodie Burton, at the time of his death. Survivors include his father, Greg Bailey, and his mother, Robin Harrison, in addition to a brother, Julian Loveless.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed computers, video games, the outdoors and photography.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dayton First Baptist Church. A private family burial will take place at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.
