" brought her 14-year-old son to the department to report he was the victim of sex crimes about a decade earlier. He would have been eight or nine at the time." My math must be off. Wouldn't he have been 4, not 8 or 9?

Myopinion, I wondered the same about the age.

Very glad Judge Collins sentenced this one for life. Sad for the victims involved and pray they continue to heal with time.

my opinion / Java . . .

In reviewing the probable cause affidavit, it does not state the abuse took place a decade earlier. It only reports the approximate ages of the two victims. They were both under 12 at the time.

The story has been fixed to reflect the change.
