Missing Newberg woman returns home safely

 UPDATE: Monday, 9 p.m.:

NEWBERG -- Ana Frigine-York, who had been missing since Friday, turned up Monday afternoon, Newberg-Dundee police said.

She is safe and in good health, they said.

Police said Frigine-York, 60, told them she went for a walk without telling anyone. She ended up in rural Dundee and camped out until Monday, when she decided to return home.

Her family had reported her missing, saying she was last seen about 9 o'clock Monday night at her home. NDPD, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Precision Helicopters and community volunteers searched throughout the weekend in an attempt to find her.

 

UPDATE/Sunday, 6 p.m.:

NEWBERG - The Newberg-Dundee Police Department is continuing its search for 60-year-old Ana Maria Frigine-York, who was last seen about 9 p.m. Friday at her home.

It's believed she left on foot and is alone, but may be in the company of someone who picked her up. She is described as being "mentally fragile", and according to her daughter, Alyssa York, she suffers from chronic pain and paranoia.

"I am extremely worried about her safety," York said. "Thank you so much to the police and people of Newberg for being out there trying to find her. It helps knowing so many people are actively searching for her."

Frigine-York is described as being 5-foot-1, 160 to 170 pounds with shoulder length gray hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a light purple-colored windbreaker and unknown color sweat pants. She does not have a phone, and it's not believed she had any money with her.

A ground search has been suspended until further leads are developed. Newberg-Dundee police are following up on all reports of possible sightings.

The Yamhill County Search and Rescue and Precision Helicopters of Newberg has assisted with the search.

NEWBERG - The Newberg-Dundee police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing woman, who was last seen Friday night on foot.

Ana Maria Frigine-York, 60, is considered medically fragile, police said.

She is described as 5-foot-3,  200 pounds, with shoulder-length gray hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a light purple windbreaker and sweat pants. 

Police said she has no money and no phone. She is not prepared to withstand the cold temperatures, which are forecast to drop to freezing overnight..
