McMinnville finds its boys soccer coach

Former Molalla boys soccer coach Jory Shene has been hired to fill the McMinnville boys soccer head coaching vacancy, McMinnville athletic director Mark Hinthorn announced Friday afternoon.

Shene, a 2006 graduate of Pacific University in Forest Grove, was the head coach at 4A Molalla High School for the past four seasons. He was the 2011 and 2012 Tri-Valley Conference Coach of the Year. In 2011, Shene was the 4A boys soccer coach of the year after leading the Indians to a 15-2-2 record and a 4A state championship.

Shene played goalkeeper at Pacific University from 2003-06 and still holds single-season records in saves (143) and saves per game (7.94). 

McMinnville played the 2012 season under interim coach Jeff Autencio. The Grizzlies finished 13-3-1 and lost 3-0 in the 6A state quarterfinals to Lincoln. Mac lost in the state semifinals in 2011. The Grizzlies graduate 10 seniors from the 2012 roster.
