Hop to it, kids

Egg hunts start promptly and are over faster than you can say “bunny hop,” so be sure to get there on time. Little ones should dress for the weather and wear shoes that will keep their feet dry, since the grass will probably be wet. And be sure to bring a basket in which to collect eggs and candy.

Egg hunts planned for Saturday, March 30, are:

Amity: 10 a.m. in Amity City Park, sponsored by the Amity Fire Department for children through age 8. The egg hunt will be divided into the age categories 0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. There will be 50 dozen eggs per age group, each with five prize eggs.

Carlton: 10 a.m. in Wennerberg Park, sponsored by the Carlton Fire District.

Dayton: Two separate egg hunts are planned, one at 10 a.m. in the city park for grade three and younger; and another at 10:30 a.m. at the Dayton Grade School sports field for grades four to six. Both hunts are sponsored by the Dayton High School FFA and the Dayton City Council, with free photos sponsored by the Dayton Downtown Association.

Lafayette: at 10 a.m. in Joel Perkins Park, Fifth and Madison streets, for children through fifth grade. Prizes for special eggs. The hunt is being put on by the Lafayette Community Church.

McMinnville: 10 a.m. in Wortman Park, McDaniel Lane side, sponsored by the McMinnville Lions Club. The field will be divided into age group categories and the Easter Bunny is likely to make an appearance.

Also that morning, the Walnut City Kiwanis Club will be hosting its annual Pancake Feed from 7 to 11 a.m. in the McMinnville Senior Center, 2250 McDaniel Lane, next to the park. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Sheridan: 9 a.m. in Sheridan City Park, sponsored by the Sheridan Fire Department. Open to children through age 12, with divisions for age groups 0-4, 5-6, 7-9, 10-12. The Easter bunny will be there as well.

Yamhill: 10 a.m. in Beulah Park for children through 12 years of age, sponsored by the Homesteaders 4-H Club.
