Hillside Retirement Community is one of the 142 communities being acquired by the investment company HCP, according to a letter published in The Grapevine, a newsletter distributed to Hillside residents.
In the letter, submitted by Granger Cobb, president and CEO of Emeritus Senior Living, the change will not have an operational impact. That’s because Emeritus has negotiated long-term leases with HCP to continue managing the properties.
Hillside is a continuing care retirement community located at 300 N.W. Hillside Parkway in McMinnville. It offers independent and assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation and short stay respites.
Formerly owned and operated by Sunwest, Hillside is one of three Yamhill County retirement facilities that came under Emeritus ownership after Sunwest went into receivership. The status of the other two, Osprey Court in McMinnville and Chehalem Springs in Newberg, has not yet been made clear, but the vast majority of the former Sunwest facilities are included in the sale to HCP.
