Girl Scout cookies here
Yamhill County’s cache of cookies — all 36,408 boxes — arrived Thursday for distribution to troops based in local cities.
Many are already spoken for, as the Scouts have been taking pre-orders. Others will be sold in front of area stores on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through March 10, said Jeanie Campbell, serving as adult coordinator for the fundraiser.
Campbell said many scouts have been selling cookies for years, including her daughter, Victoria, a McMinnville High School senior. Many sell hundreds of boxes, she said.
Cookies run $4 a box, the same as last year. They come in eight varieties: Savannah Smiles (lemon), Trefoils (shortbread), Do-Si-Dos (oatmeal and peanut butter), Samoas (coconut and caramel), Dulce de Leche (caramel), Thank U Berry Munch (cranberries and white fudge chips), Tagalongs (peanut butter and chocolate) and Thin Mints (mint).
