Fourth place in the cards for McMinnville golf teams
TUALATIN – Three McMinnville boys golfers posted rounds of 84 or lower as the Grizzlies took fourth place at Monday’s Class 6A Pacific Conference tournament at Tualatin Country Club.
McMinnville posted a combined stroke total of 353, 40 more than first-place Tigard. Host Tualatin was second with 335, followed by Glencoe (351).
Junior Kyle Brooker posted the Grizzlies’ low round, carding an 11-over 83. Tanner Autencio and Bryce Brooker each scored an 84, while Adam Israel posted a 102 as McMinnville’s fourth golfer. Jacob Simmons (136) also competed.
The Grizzlies host Monday’s Pacific Conference tournament at Michelbook Country Club on Monday. Varsity golfers tee off at noon.
Girls fourth at Chehalem Glenn
NEWBERG – The McMinnville girls golf team finished fourth at Monday’s Class 6A Pacific Conference tournament at Chehalem Glenn Golf Course in Newberg.
Forest Grove won the tournament with a combined stroke total of 408. Tigard was second with a score of 436, followed by Tualatin (439), McMinnville (458) and Glencoe (488).
Freshman Emma Byer was the Grizzlies’ low scorer for the fourth tournament in a row, carding a 22-over 94. Hazel Findley (113) and Kaela Worden (118) took second and third among Mac golfers, respectively, and junior Katelyn Obregon was a scorer (133) in her first tournament of the season. Aubryn Walters (135) also competed for the Grizzlies.
McMinnville will compete at a Pacific Conference tournament at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks on Tuesday.
