The Newberg Chehalem Valley Mill was constructed in 1901, according to an article in the Newberg Graphic. I unfortunately mistyped that date as 1910 in my contest submission and was unable to get it corrected before release. I would like your readers to know that 1901 is the correct date for this iconic and historic Newberg. It was operated as a pastry mill until 1947, when it as converted to a feed mixing facility and liquid fertilizer plant (Newberg Graphic, 2006). The structure is now vacant and is falling to disrepair. I hope that this turn of the century building can be restored and preserved as a Newberg historic landmark.
