Donors help with vet bill

Sheriff’s Capt. Ron Huber said dog control has received some donations helping to defray the vet bill and take care of other expenses.

The dog was cowering, whimpering and bleeding when found. It’s face/neck area was swollen. Severely distressed, it was rushed to a vet.

Someone coming across the animal posted the news on the dog park’s Facebook page. That prompted a visitor to the page to call the Yamhill Communications Agency, which dispatched Sgt. Brian Young to the scene.

The dog, initially described as a pit bull, appears to be less than 2 years old. The sheriff’s office has been unable to locate its owner, as the dog did not have either a collar or microchip.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 503-434-7506.
