I am not a member of a church, and I fail to understand why it is the obligation of the churches to solve these issues.

So Wal-Mart allows people to camp in their parking lot but I assume this comes with rules or limits otherwise these people would park there indefinitely. Does anyone know what the rules are for that location?

Ticketing on Public Streets.... hhmmm.... What happened to communities coming together and help each other?? Living in a R.V. is NOT a crime, we have a HOMELESS ISSUE!!!! Who the heck wants to LIVE in a apartment?? Where's the Privacy? Where's the Freedom?

"Violators face fines of up to $25 a day for parking an RV on a public street. If the fine is not paid within 14 days, it goes up to $35 per day".
What's wrong with this statement? A "1" should of been put in front of the 25. Make it harder for them to pay the fine. $125 per day would give them more incentive to move. If I have a cracked windshield, it's about $300.00 citation. But to have a good job done to replace it is about $400.00+

Enforcement alone will never work.... I thought there was a search being conducted for a designated location....Has that been tabled?
There is a nearly empty parking lot on Hwy 18 that at one time was an RV sales lot.... has anyone inquired?

Mac...not sure what you Drive, but I had my windshield replaced in my full size pickup for $232.... and they came to my location to do it......

It’s a simple solution. Go to work, earn money, pay rent in a RV park or buy a house. It’s not a complex situation it’s simply a fact that we have a percentage of our population that think society owes them something because they were born in this country. If you don’t want to work then the tax payers owe you nothing. There are more job openings in this state than any other time of my 67 years in this great country.

I've seen rv's at YCAP with several of the yellow fine letters under their windshield wipers or taped onto the vehicle.
Seems like some of the folks don't bother to even look at them.

Sounds like round one is over.

“The solution isn’t ticketing,” he said. “It’s building more affordable housing. We all know that.”

This one sentence states the problem, housing has skyrocketed in our little valley in the last couple of years. These people have probably lived in McMinnville their whole lives, have family in the area, but can't find reasonable rent.

Maybe in the short term someone could open up a field for $5/day/RV and install bathrooms and sinks and allow the RV's to be parked there until the city can determine how to create a low rent option.
