Department of Agriculture issues penalties

Oregon Field Spraying LLC of Carlton and Carlton resident Erif J. Kuehe personally, $407 each for performing pesticide application in what the ODA deemed a “faulty, careless or negligent manner.”

Arie and Joel Slegers of Slegers Inc. of Dayton, $4,320 for allegedly discharging manure improperly.

Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises of McMinnville, $1,200 penalty for allegedly plowing up riparian vegetation adjacent to a farm field. 

Civil penalties assessed by ODA can be contested through an administrative hearing process.
