Dayton council to meet Monday
DAYTON -- City council members will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday to consider awarding contracts for the Miller Fountain Renovation Project, 11th Street Park improvements and backflow testing. The public session will be held in the City Hall Annex, 408 Ferry St.
The council will consider approving repairs to the Fletcher Road storm line and deteriorating portions of Oak, Eighth and Mill streets and Flower Lane. It also will appoint Carol Hatfield to the planning commission, hear a draft report on Dayton's water management and conservation plan and consider the Portlang General Electric franchise.
Dayton's newly hired city manager, Scott Pingel, won't be in town for the Monday meeting. He's expected to start work March 11.
