Council to meet Tuesday

Where it will go, once amended, is unclear. For the time being, the council has told the planning department to sit on it, pending changes to state land use law by the Legislature.

The plan is intended as a guide to growth over a 20-year period. However, more than half of that time has already passed, as appeals have continued to stall final approval.

The council is slated to meet at 6 p.m. in a dinner work session and 7 p.m. in formal business session. The public sessions will be held in the McMinnville Civic Hall, 200 N.E. Second St.

In other business:

* Mayor Rick Olson and councilors Scott Hill and Kellie Menke are scheduled to be sworn in, after being elected to new terms. Larry Yoder was also re-elected, but won’t be able to attend the meeting, so will have to be sworn it at a later date

* The council is scheduled to receive a report on its annual financial audit, already reviewed by the audit committee. The city has once again received a clean opinion.
