Council finalizing finances in Mac

The council is slated to meet at 6 p.m. in dinner work session and 7 p.m. in formal business session at McMinnville Civic Hall, 200 N.E. Second St. Both are open to the public.

The council also is scheduled to award contracts, one for street overlays, expected to go to low bidder Brix Paving Northwest Inc. at $483,500, and one for slurry sealing, expected to go to low bidder Asphalt Maintenance Associates Inc. at $66,875.

The council also is scheduled to hold a memorial presentation for Laika, a police dog who had to be euthanized in early June, and to hear a presentation from Police Chief Ron Noble on the department’s strategic planning process. Finally, it plans to hear a presentation on the city’s insurance program and a presentation by the Greater Yamhill Watershed Council on its activities.
