Chamber lists Women in Business, After Hours events

A pair of upcoming McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce events will focus on two of its members.
Kristi Searls, owner of the Laughing Bean Bistro, will teach some quick and easy appetizer recipes to participants in a Women in Business session set for 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the restaurant located at located 2274 S.W. Second St., Suite A, off Hill Road. Participants are asked to bring a small jar with a lid and a recipe of their own to share.
Business After Hours, originally scheduled for first First Federal, has been changed to La Bella Casa, 406 N.E. Third St., from 5:15 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Reservations are requested atchamberinfo@mcminnville.org.
For members, the cost is $5 with reservations and $8 without. For non-members, it is $10.
SKI BUS
A kick-off party for the Mount Hood Meadows ski bus serving McMinnville and Newberg will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Red Hills Market, 115 S.W. Seventh St. in Dundee.
Kyle Sims, Cheryl Groth and members of the Meadows staff will discuss the various options that are available. For more information, call 971-241-0129.
BRANDING TALK
Jennifer Larsen Morrow of McMinnville’s Creative Company will give a 90-minute presentation on the value of branding later this month in Utah.
She is scheduled to address the Utah Association of Counties Nov. 14, during its annual convention in St. George.
“Government associations often don’t consider branding as a strategy, since they don’t have a product to sell,” Morrow said. “But good marketing and consistent branding is about understanding your audience and communicating effectively.”
