Budget committee to meet
The Oregon State Police identified the driver as Marlan Bruce Hoerer, 67, of Salem. He was transported by ground ambulance to Salem Hospital.
He was cited for failure to maintain a lane of travel. The highway was closed for several hours while the scene was cleared.
Budget committee to meet in Mac
The McMinnville School District’s budget committee will learn about the financial outlook for 2013-14 when it meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. The public session will be held at the district office, 1500 N.E. Baker St.
The agenda includes a look at the state’s economic forecast and K-12 funding proposals from the governor, Ways & Means Committee and other sources. In addition, the committee will hear about enrollment projections and PERS rates.

YCOM meeting canceled
The Yamhill Communications Agency board meeting originally scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.
The agency’s governing board will next meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in Room 32 of the Yamhill County Courthouse.
Prior to the board meeting, the agency’s budget committee will meet at 1 p.m. to work on budget issues.
Willamina has full council again
WILLAMINA — Jeri Lynn St. Onge was appointed Thursday to the Willamina City Council.
She fills a vacancy created when Corey Adams was elected mayor in November. Her term will expire Dec. 31, 2014.
St. Onge has lived in Willamina for 20 months. She has no prior governmental experience, but is familiar with the community through her association with a number of organizations.
She was the only applicant. Her appointment gives the council a full complement.
St. Onge joins Rita Baller, Allan Bramall, Gary Hill, Ila Skyberg and Laurie Toney.
The council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
Sheridan to form bond committee
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan School Board plans to create a bond committee when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the district office. Members will be asked to prioritize facility needs that could be included in a future bond measure.

Yamhill appoints budgeter
YAMHILL — The city council appointed a citizen to Yamhill’s budget committee when it met March 13.
Margaret Reinholt was appointed to the budget committee. She and other members of the group will meet this spring to develop a budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
The council also approved a contract with Right Choice Cleaning Services to clean city hall, heard reports and hosted a get-acquainted visit from County Commissioner Allen Springer, newly elected in November. For more information, call city hall at 503-662-3511.
Dinner to benefit AMVETS
AMVETS Post 1993 will host a fundraising dinner Saturday, March 23, at the American Legion Hall, 126 N.E. Atlantic St.
Spaghetti will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. AMVETS is requesting a donation of $7.50 per dinner.
AMVETS, short for American Veterans, is an organization open to any vet. Its aim is to assist veterans by sponsoring programs and activities.
