Author to read from work

This is the final event in the “Readings at the Nick” series for this academic year.

Szybist, who teaches English at Lewis & Clark College, is the author of “Incarnadine,” winner of the 2013 National Book Award for Poetry. She also wrote “Granted,” a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.

Hartigan, a graduate of Reed College and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, will read from “Pool [5 choruses],”  a finalist for this year’s Oregon Book Award in poetry and winner of the 2012 Omnidawn Open Poetry Book Prize. She also is the author of “One Sun Storm,” selected for the Colorado Prize for Poetry and a finalist for the Oregon Book Award.
