Autencio, Mac take 4th place

NEWBERG – The McMinnville boys golf team finished fourth at Monday’s Class 6A Pacific Conference tournament at Chehalem Glenn Golf Club in Newberg.

The Grizzlies compiled a combined score of 359 at the par-72 Chehalem Glenn, 39 strokes behind first-place Tigard (320). Tualatin finished second with a combined score of 337, and Hillsboro (348) took third.

Junior Tanner Autencio led the way for McMinnville with a 14-over 86, 11 strokes behind co-medalists J.J. Paulson of Tualatin and Jared Duvall of Glencoe.

Senior Bryce Brooker and junior Adam Israel both carded rounds of 95, tied for second among Mac golfers. Junior Kyle Brooker (95) edged freshman Michael Martinoff (96) as the Grizzlies’ fourth golfer.

McMinnville’s season continues Monday with a tournament at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course in North Plains, beginning at 11:40 a.m.


Girls third at Pumpkin Ridge

NORTH PLAINS – The McMinnville girls golf team finished third at Tuesday’s Class 6A Pacific Conference tournament at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s Ghost Creek Course in North Plains.

Forest Grove won the meet with a combined stroke total of 406, benefiting from the efforts of medalist Hannah Swanson (1-over 72). Tualatin took second place (428), followed by the Grizzlies (464), Glencoe (482) and Tigard (486).

Freshman Emma Beyer paced McMinnville with a round score of 110. Hazel Findley (116), Kaela Worden (117) and Katy Kuehn (121) also scored for the Grizzlies, while Aubryn Walters (168) also competed.

McMinnville’s next tournament comes Monday at Tualatin Country Club. The Grizzlies tee off at 10 a.m.
