Amity couple arrested on drug charges
Nov 22, 2013
AMITY — An Amity couple was arrested Wednesday morning by Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team agents at their residence that is located less than 700 feet from the elementary school on Rice Lane. Children were also living in the home.
Rebecca Lee Rogers, 40, and Benjamin Lee Stonebrink, 34, of 406 Wolfe Ave., were each charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count each of delivery of a controlled substance/methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of a controlled substance. They were each lodged in the local jail on $522,500 bail.
Roger Alan Stonebrink, Benjamin's father, was cited on one count of possession of a controlled substance/meth.
Methamphetamine, packaging materials, paraphernalia and money were recovered during a search warrant served by the drug team at about 5:30 a.m.
The state Department of Human Services responded and took the children into protective custody.
"It's important that YCINT act swiftly when children are involved," Sheriff Jack Crabtree said. "Kids don't have a choice to walk away from those types of situations. Sometimes we have to intervene and make that choice for them."
Crabtree praised the work of Amity Police Chief Dan Brown and his office for their involvement in the case.
Anyone with information on this case or a suspected drug case is encouraged to contact sheriff's Sgt. Chris Ray, who oversees the drug team, at 503-434-7506, or the YCINT tip line at 503-472-6565. Anonymous information can be left.
