Adoption date set for Little Free Libraries
There are 18 Little Free Libraries waiting to find homes in Yamhill County and those wishing to adopt one need to apply by Friday, Feb. 15, according to Michele Bergeron, coordinator for Reading for All.
The tiny lending libraries are part of an international program which operates on the philosophy of "take a book, return a book," with more information available at the website, www.littlefreelibrary.org. Working in partnership with Lowe's and Hillside Retirement Communities, Reading for All now has the local libraries constructed and ready for installation.
Those interested can submit an application through the website at www.reading4all.com, or pick one up at a local public library. Bergeron said that the adoptions will not be first-come, first-served, but rather the intention is to serve the entire county as equitably as possible with placements in each community.
