For the second consecutive season, Yamhill-Carlton (17-7) has locked up second place in the Cowapa League. Banks, 4A’s No. 1-ranked team, finished first. The Tigers host a play-in game this week. The Tigers play at 4:30 p.m. today vs. Central

The Yamhill-Carlton baseball season (5-17) finishes its season in sixth with three Cowapa League wins.

Dayton baseball

The Pirates (14-6) are safely locked into second in the WVL. Dayton and Horizon Christian will play at 5 p.m. Thursday at Horizon Christian in the WVL playoffs.

Willamina Bulldogs

The Bulldogs (13-7) finished third Dayton and Colton with seven league wins in softball. Willamina plays at 4:30 p.m. today at Douglas and 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Blanchet Catholic. For league playoffs, the Bulldogs will play at 5 p.m. Friday vs. Wednesday’s Amity-Sheridan playoff game.

The Bulldogs baseball team (5-13) finished fifth in the WVL. The Bulldogs will play at 5 p.m. today vs. Colton.

Amity Warriors

The Amity Warriors softball team finished the regular season in fourth place. The Warriors (15-6) completed a big turnaround from last season when they finished with six wins. Amity hosts a playoff game at 5 p.m. Wednesday vs. the Sheridan Spartans in the first round of the WVL playoffs.

The Amity Warriors baseball team (4-16) narrowly missed the WVL playoffs. Willamina edged out Amity by one win.

Sheridan Spartans

The Spartan softball program (7-15) is the fifth seed in the WVL playoffs. Sheridan will play at 5 p.m. Wednesday vs. the four seed, Amity, in the first round.

With two league wins and four overall, the Spartans baseball team’s season has come to an end. Sheridan (4-16) ended last season 0-16.
