Winsome holding open house
Winsome Construction has an open house slated for 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at its model home at 2115 N.W. West Wind Drive in McMinnville. The event will celebrate a change in name from Winsome Homes, and scope, previously limited to homebuilding.
"This is not just a cosmetic name change," said partner Shan Stassens, a general contractor. "We are really feeling a surge among local businesses and wineries here in Yamhill County to use this downturn to improve their businesses, to become sharper, smarter and better,"
Winsome just completed a production facility in Dundee for the Briar Rose Creamery, which makes goat cheese. It also has some winery buildings planned.
While construction is a tough business in this economy, Stassen said the big-scale builders that once ruled the industry have pulled back, creating a renewed opportunity for smaller builders.
"We are appreciating that opportunity here in Yamhill County," he said. "We are so glad to have the opportunity to be a part of helping our local businesses grow."
Those attending the open house are encouraged to bring clothing, bedding, pantry items or gift cards for Henderson House shelter clients. For more information, call 503-560-5189.
