Storm leaves downed trees, some power outages

A few Yamhill County residents remain without power today following Saturday's strong winds, the result of a tropical storm skirting the Oregon coast.

The Wheatland Ferry is running again after being closed Saturday.

The ferry crosses the Willamette River south of Dayton, near Maude Williamson State Park. The park itself suffered a great deal of damage during Thursday's windstorm and was closed Saturday, in case more trees fell.

Winds topped 70 mph along the coast and gusts reached about 45 in the valley, according to the National Weather Service.
